The rescue bearing is designed to replace a standard bearing that has failed. It is designed to mount in the same location as the failed bearing. In many cases, a bearing can cause major or minor damage to the shaft which requires replacement or repair of the shaft. The rescue bearing’s extended inner race makes contact on clean undamaged surfaces. It has locking mechanisms on both sides of the race which allows installation of the rescue bearing to a damaged shaft. Very simply, the damaged bearing is removed using a grinder with a cutting wheel in minutes. There is no worry of contacting the damaged area of the shaft. The shaft can be lightly sanded/oiled and the rescue bearing can be slid into the existing mounting location, locked onto the cleaned shaft area, and put back into operation in a very short time. A standard bearing will experience premature failure and further shaft damage if it is not replaced with a new shaft. Replacing a shaft is costly and labor intensive. Labor will be reduced significantly by using a rescue bearing rather than replacing the entire shaft. In most cases there are parts such as a fan wheel, cog, or more than one bearing, etc. that will require removal from the shaft to access the damaged bearing. The rescue bearing is an immediate reliable bearing replacement solution and will improve the way bearings can be replaced in the future.
